(Fox News Channel) President Obama’s planned Thursday night DNC speech moved indoors.

Bill Hemmer reported that President Obama’s DNC speech will be moved to the Time Warner Cable Arena. The speech on Thursday night was originally planned as an outside event, at the Bank of America Stadium which holds 74,000 people. DNCC CEO Steve Kerrigan said in a statement that after monitoring weather forecasts, they moved the venue in order to “ensure the safety and security of our delegates and convention guests.”

The Obama campaign is encouraging people who had community credentials to stay at home and organize watch parties instead of coming to Charlotte, North Carolina. The group they are referring to includes people from Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and elsewhere, who were going to be brought in to see the president speak.

(That's a nightmare for any organizer of such an event. You're planning a year or more with your team and your partners this date. Outdoor event. 80,000 people capacity. Highest safety precautions. Worldwide media attention. State of emergency. And within 24 hours you have to do everything to an internal event with "only" 30,000 people. Madness. Although: This madness is just right for me.
